Michelle, Grand Portage Chippewa, is a social worker with extensive experience in child protection, tribal relations, housing, and survivor advocacy across Minnesota. She received her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Michelle began her career at the Domestic Abuse Intervention Program, where she served as an advocate for over a decade. She currently serves as the Tribal Relations Specialist in the Tribal Transformation Unit within the Minnesota Department of Human Services Aging and Disabilities Division, and has previously worked as a Child Protection Social Worker, Case Manager for the Fond Du Lac Reservation Supportive Housing Program, and Program Director for the American Indian Community Housing Programs in Duluth.
