What is “Community Assessment” and How Can it Benefit my Community?

A goal of many OVW grantees is to change institutional practices that give rise to poor outcomes for survivors of violence against women. Praxis International offers methods and tools for communities to reform the ongoing case processing routines that contribute to negative outcomes for victims and survivors. The tools avoid pointing fingers of blame at individuals for failing to protect victims. From the perspective of victim safety and well-being and offender accountability, practitioners and advocates work side by side to analyze policies, case files, and steps in case processing to identify concrete points of change. This webinar will provide an overview of the tools available and how they might benefit your community's efforts to improve responses to violence against women.
