Domestic Violence Best Practice Assessment of Victim-Witness Services, Bail Setting & Pre-Trial Release

It is the responsibility of a coordinated community response (CCR) and an individual agency to evaluate and inform its intervention practices in domestic violence-related cases. Often viewed as a daunting task needing additional resources and a lengthy timeframe for completion, the reality is that there are many self-evaluation tools that are accessible and manageable for busy CCRs. This webinar will feature a relatively quick way to help small teams conduct a best practice assessment for victim-witness services, bail setting, and pretrial release by using guides Praxis recently developed for The Domestic Violence Best Practice Assessment. This type of assessment involves a rather narrow scope, small number of participants, and targeted data collection. The guides detail a process for a community to engage in a review of the criminal legal system response to domestic violence-related cases using checklists of core practices, reflecting what is found in the Blueprint for Safety.
